Meta ads with Claude
From competitor research to a ready-to-review Meta ad, without opening Ads Manager.
From the reel: META · Updated Oct 2026
From competitor research to a live Meta ad. One workflow, run entirely inside Claude with the Meta Ads MCP and Canva MCP.
How to use this system
Set up once, then repeat steps 2, 4, 6 and 7 for every new campaign.
1. Install the Meta Ads MCP.
In Claude, click "+" next to the chat box (or type "/") and choose "Add connectors", or go to Settings → Connectors → "+". Select "Add custom connector" and paste the server URL: mcp.facebook.com/ads. Click Add, then Connect, and complete the Meta login to link your ad account(s).
2. Run Prompt 1: market and competitor research. Fill in the blanks (keywords, country, your offer, what you want to learn) and send it to Claude. Claude searches the live Meta Ad Library and returns raw results, patterns, fresh angles and red flags.
3. Install the Avoid AI Writing skill. Get it from GitHub. In Claude, make sure Code Execution is on (Settings → Capabilities), then go to Customize → Skills. Click Add / Upload skill and upload the skill. Toggle it on. Prompt 2 uses it automatically.
4. Run Prompt 2: generate ad copy from that research. Fill in your offer, which research to base it on, and your landing destination (WhatsApp number, website or phone). Claude drafts 3–5 variants (message, headline, description, CTA), cleaned through the Avoid AI Writing skill.
5. Install the Canva MCP. Same connector flow as step 1: search for Canva, click Connect and authorize your Canva account.
6. Ask Claude to build the creatives in Canva. Once you've approved the copy, tell Claude to generate the ad creatives in Canva. It designs options for each variant, and you pick your favourites to finalize as editable Canva designs.
7. Ask Claude to push it to your Meta Ads account. Claude pulls your connected ad accounts and Pages, confirms goal, budget, targeting and destination with you, exports the Canva design, uploads it, and builds the campaign → ad set → creative → ad. Everything is created paused for your review before anything goes live.
Prompt 1: Competitor research
Use after connecting the Meta Ads MCP. Fill in the blanks for your business.
Search the Meta Ads Library for me.
Search terms: [KEYWORD OR PHRASE — leave blank if searching by page/country only]
Page name or ID: [ADVERTISER PAGE NAME OR PAGE ID — leave blank if not searching a specific page]
Countries: [ISO-2 CODES, e.g. US, GB, DE — leave blank for all]
Ad status: [ACTIVE / INACTIVE / ALL]
Ad category: [ALL / POLITICAL_AND_ISSUE_ADS / HOUSING_ADS / EMPLOYMENT_ADS / CREDIT_ADS]
Number of results: [1–50, default 25]
What I'm trying to learn: [e.g. "hook angles competitors are using," "how long their ads have been running," "creative formats in this niche"]
My angle/offer: [OPTIONAL — briefly describe your own product, price point, or positioning, so suggestions are relevant to YOU and not generic]
After searching, give me:
1. Raw results (page name, hook/headline, snapshot link)
2. Patterns — repeated hooks, offers, formats, or targeting signals across results
3. Suggestions — 3–5 specific angles or hooks I could adapt for my own ads, based on what's working here (flag which ones are oversaturated vs. still fresh)
4. Anything to avoid — weak/spammy patterns, false-positive results, or red flags in this niche
Prompt 2: Ad copy generation
Use after Prompt 1. Fill in the blanks for your business.
Generate ad copies for me.
My offer: [what you're selling — product, price range, location/project name, key details]
Base this on: [which research to use — e.g. "the real estate Mumbai search" — or paste new context]
Number of variants: [e.g. 3–5, default 3]
Landing destination: [WhatsApp number / website URL / phone number — optional]
Must include: [mandatory disclaimers, RERA number, brand name, etc. — optional]
Must avoid: [words, claims, or tones to avoid — optional]
Tone: [e.g. premium, budget-friendly, urgent — optional, leave blank and match what's working in the research]
CTA button: [optional — leave blank and pick based on landing destination + what's converting in this niche]
After drafting, run the output through the /avoid-ai-writing skill to strip generic AI-writing patterns before giving me the final copy. Don't show your reasoning — just hand me clean copy.
Notes from testing
- Click-to-WhatsApp ads need a WhatsApp Business Account linked to the Facebook Page. A personal WhatsApp number will get the ad set rejected. Set this up in Meta Business Suite first.
- Everything Claude creates in Meta Ads is paused. Nothing spends automatically. Review and activate it in Ads Manager when you're ready.
- Real product or property photos beat AI or stock images for conversions. Upload real photos to Canva, or share them directly with Claude.
