How to install Find Skills: the Claude skill that finds other skills

Install Find Skills by Vercel in Claude Code or Claude chat. Ask Claude to find a skill for any task, and it searches thousands of skills and installs the one you pick.

Find Skills is a skill made by Vercel. Its whole job is to find other skills for you. It's the most installed skill on skills.sh, with over 2 million installs.

You tell Claude what you're trying to do, like "find me a skill for SEO," and it searches thousands of skills, shows you how many people have installed each one, and helps you install the one you pick.

Step 1: Check you have Node.js

The install command uses npx, which comes with Node.js. If you don't have Node.js, either download it from nodejs.org, or open Claude Code and say: "Install Node.js for me."

Step 2: Install Find Skills

In Claude Code, run this command (or ask Claude Code to run it for you):

npx skills add vercel-labs/skills --skill find-skills

To install it for all your projects, add -g:

npx skills add vercel-labs/skills --skill find-skills -g

Step 3: Ask it to find a skill

Just chat with Claude Code, for example:

  • "Find me a skill for SEO"
  • "Is there a skill for writing email sequences?"
  • "Find me a skill for Meta Ads"

It shows you the best matches with their install counts. Tell it which one you want, and it installs it.

Good to know

  • At the end of an install you may see a red line saying something like "Failed to install 1 → PromptScript." You can ignore it. PromptScript is a different tool, and your skill still installed for Claude Code.
  • Some skills need their own account to work. For example, the Firecrawl SEO skills need a Firecrawl account.

Option 2: Normal Claude chat (web or desktop app)

  1. Go to the Find Skills folder on GitHub: github.com/vercel-labs/skills (open skills/find-skills).
  2. Download the find-skills folder and zip it.
  3. In Claude, go to Customize, then Skills, and upload the zip. Make sure code execution is turned on in your settings.
  4. In a chat, ask: "Find me a skill for SEO."

In normal chat, Find Skills searches and recommends skills, but it can't install them into your account. For each skill you like, download it from its link and upload it in Customize, Skills, the same way.

How to pick a good skill

  • Install count: prefer skills with 1,000+ installs.
  • Who made it: skills from known companies (like Vercel, Anthropic or Microsoft) are safer than unknown authors.
  • Review it first: skills run with your agent's permissions, so skim what a skill does before installing it.
